1.Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information Scarsdale Hub LLC ("Scarsdale Hub," "we," "us," or "our") collects through thescarsdalehub.com (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. It should be read alongside our Terms and Conditions.
2.Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed version of your password — we never store your password in plain text.
Payment information. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We don't receive or store your full card number — Stripe shares with us your subscription status, billing interval, and a customer reference ID so we can manage your access.
Content you submit. Vendor suggestions, reviews (including any photos you attach), event listings, resource listings, and favorites you save are stored and associated with your account.
Usage data. We use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used — this collects information like pages visited, general location, and device/browser type through cookies and similar technologies.
3.How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account and subscription;
- To display your submitted content (vendor suggestions, reviews, listings) on the Service;
- To send transactional emails — account verification, password resets, renewal reminders, and moderation updates on content you've submitted;
- To respond to support requests;
- To understand usage patterns and improve the Service;
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms.
4.Who we share information with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed for them to provide that service:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing;
- Resend — sending transactional emails;
- Vercel — hosting the Service and storing images you upload;
- Supabase — our database provider;
- Google Analytics — usage analytics.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we'll notify you.
5.Content you choose to make public
Vendor suggestions, reviews, event listings, and resource listings you submit are reviewed and, once approved, displayed publicly to other members — including your display name and any photos you attach to a review. Don't include information in these submissions that you don't want visible to other members.
6.Cookies
We use a small number of cookies: one to keep you logged in (essential to the Service working), and analytics cookies from Google Analytics. You can block cookies through your browser settings, though the Service won't function properly without the login cookie.
7.Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to, we'll delete your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we're required to keep it (for example, billing records for tax purposes) or where content you've submitted needs to be reassigned or removed rather than deleted outright to keep the Service's public content intact.
8.Your choices
You can review and update your account information at any time from your account settings. To request that we delete your account and associated personal information, email us at info@thescarsdalehub.com. Note that transactional emails (like renewal reminders or moderation updates) are part of the Service and can't be opted out of individually while your account is active — canceling your subscription or closing your account stops them.
9.Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypting passwords and using reputable third-party providers for payment and hosting. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
10.Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at, and we don't knowingly collect information from, anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll post the update here with a new "Last updated" date, and where practical, notify you by email.
